A MAN from Binga has been dragged to court for assaulting his father and fracturing his arm following a misunderstanding over US$5.
Khulumani Munkuli (37) of Magole village under Chief Pashu had paid the money to facilitate clearance of a cow that was lobola from an in-law.

Khulumani beat up his father Simon.

Khulumani pleaded guilty to physical abuse when he appeared before Hwange magistrate Ms Fungai Dzimiri who remanded him in custody for sentencing next week.

Circumstances are that the complainant was at his homestead when his son approached him demanding the US$5.

Munkuli had paid the money for the stock card to veterinary services officers on behalf of his father.

The court heard that when the complainant told his son that he did not have the money, a misunderstanding ensued resulting in Munkuli picking a log and hitting his father repeatedly all over the body.

The old man managed to free himself and ran for his dear life but fractured an arm in the process while trying to block the log.

The complainant was treated at Binga District Hospital.
