NSSA sues minister over remittance of contributions

for allegedly failing to remit his farm workers’ contributions to the National Social Security Authority.

The minister is being sued by NSSA in his capacity as the owner of Mshala Farm in Karoi.
According to a chamber application filed at the High Court, NSSA claims that the minister failed to remit US$2 576,67 for the period between February 2009 to January 2010.

The authority is also claiming US$1 288,33 being penalties and surcharges levied.

The authority, through its lawyers Muchineripi and Associates, is also claiming interest at the prime bank rate calculated from July 9, 2010 to date of final payment.

The minister is yet to respond to the application. Justice Joseph Musakwa will preside over the application.
