Ntuthu Sparrows coach Precious Mudenge was in buoyant mood after her team’s performance and she believes the challenge from other teams will intensify in the second half of the season.
“They made us sweat for our victory, but we played well, I’m happy for the girls, they showed character, because every team wants to prove a point when they face us,” said Mudenge.
Championship favourites Ntuthu Sparrows are the team to beat this season as they are eyeing a Super League berth.
“The fact that we have not lost so a far shows that we are in the right direction and we have got Super League material so I think we can qualify as long as we get the sponsorship,” said Mudenge.
Struggling Phakamani finally registered their first win after they thumped bottom side TelOne 35-13 while second placed Jumbo Queens beat Free Stars 30-20.
