‘Nuclear talks timely for Iran’

TEHRAN. — The new round of negotiations between Iran and the world powers is an opportunity for immediate removal of sanctions against the country over its disputed nuclear programme, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif was quoted as saying by Iran’s Student News Agency (ISNA) yesterday.

In previous talks, solutions were offered to a number of existing problems over Iran’s nuclear problem, Zarif said, adding that the new round of talks can also be an opportunity to resolve other technical issues as well as discussing the immediate removal of sanctions.

“With no doubt, the only option to settle the nuclear issue of Iran is through talks and there is no way other than this,” he said on the sidelines of a UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva.

“We hope to take significant steps in the new round of talks,” he added. — Xinhua.
