BULAWAYO Volleyball League newcomers, National University of Science and Technology men’s team continue to shine as they have won the ticket to play in the National Volleyball League scheduled for next month.

This comes after their standout performance at the National Volleyball League playoffs that were held at White City last Saturday. They will be joining last year’s champions Support Unit, University of Zimbabwe Wolves, NABA and Harare City.

Currently occupying position one in the BVA league, Nust captain Alex Sibanda praised his team for their undying spirit which has led to their triumph.

“Credit goes to the whole team for their never ending spirit, we have been working hard towards reaching high standards  and with the kind of team work that we have, our team is certainly going to be the team to beat in the national league,” he said.

He also went on to thank their coach Khanyile Dlamini for her guidance that she has provided to the team as he said, “Not forgetting the contributions that have been made by our coach, she has been there for us since the beginning of this journey and in her we have a great leader through whom we have learnt a lot of volleyball lessons,” said Sibanda.

Dlamini recently got promoted as the first female chairperson of the Zimbabwe Volleyball National League.

Joining Nust in the National League are Chinhoyi University of Technology, Black Rhinos and Parrots. BVA women’s league log leaders, Hurricanes also made it to the National League together with Parrots and Chinhoyi University of Technology and they are set to join reigning champions Harare City who convincingly won last year’s league by recording six wins from six games, UZ Wolves and Spartans.
