Nust student found dead

In another incident, a 21-year-old man was crushed to death by a train near Sauerstown on Tuesday afternoon.

Simba Mangezi of Number 39 Campbell Road in North End was hit by the train while walking along the Bulawayo-Harare railway line.

It is believed that Mangezi did not hear the train hooting as he was putting on headphones.

“The train hooted but he did not react. He had headphones. The train dragged him for about 200 metres, crushed his head and broke his legs,” said a witness who preferred anonymity.

Acting Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Bekimpilo Ndlovu confirmed both incidents.

“We attended an incident where a 23-year-old young man’s body was found hanging in a room that he was renting in Sunninghill. We are still investigating the case,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.

“We also attended an incident where a 21-year-old man from North End was struck and killed by a train on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred in Sauerstown along the Bulawayo-Harare railway line.”
Asst Insp Ndlovu urged members of the public to be extra careful when walking along a railway line.

Meanwhile, a student who knew Munyonyiwa said his body was discovered on Tuesday morning by a 32-year-old man who stayed in the same house.

The student said the man who discovered Munyonyiwa’s body saw him through the window as his door was locked and reported the case at a police base near the suburb.
