IRELAND-BASED Zimbabwean songbird, Nyaka Chana, will perform today at the Black History Expo.
Born Caroline Nyaka, the musician is basking in the glory of performing at the inaugural event which will also feature top African executives, including some from Zimbabwe.
Nyaka Chana said she is ready for the challenge.
“This is a special inaugural event and it’s one of the biggest stages I have performed on.
“I have put together a mighty eight-piece band to back me up on stage.
“The band consists of musical instrument players who have played with legends across the planet,” said Nyaka Chana.
The band consists of Nikos Petsakos, from Greece, who has been a professional music tutor since 1999.
Splinter, a former Mbuya Stella Chiweshe’s drummer, is also part of the octet.
“I am looking forward to sharing my Zimbabwean heritage with fans in Ireland when we take to the stage.
“Thanks to ACSONI and JoinHer Network for helping with organising this event and everyone exhibiting at the Expo.
“I am honoured to have assembled the eight member band that will close down the great Black History Expo.
“I hope fans will have some chemistry with the Irish drummer, who once played with Stella Chiweshe,” she said.
Nyaka Chana hopes her rendition of Mbuya Stella Chiweshe will earn her the desired followership ahead of her Germany tour.
The Ireland Black History Expo is the first of its kind and has already attracted different exhibitors from across the continent.
A number of organisations and representatives, including Cabinet Ministers and police chiefs, are in attendance
