BLACK Rhinos exciting midfielder, Kuda Nyakudanga, proved once again why he is a pivotal cog for the army side in their quest for survival as they beat ZPC Kariba 4-3 in a Castle Lager Premier League match at Bata on Saturday.

Nyakudanga, who was playing cameo roles in the past games, was given a starting berth.

He controlled the tempo of the game, giving the army side an edge over their opponent.

The match marked his return into the starting 11 since his injury.

Nyakudanga was sidelined early in the first half of the season after suffering an injury in a match against Bulawayo Chiefs.

On Saturday, Nyakudanga produced a man-of-the-match performance.

He scored a scorcher from outside the box after turning his marker before unleashing a thunderbolt.

Nyakudanga told Zimpapers Sports that his strong comeback is a reflection of his hard work.

“I am grateful for coming back from injury and being able to command a starting place in a team where there is competition.

“It feels good to be part of the winning team, especially coming and making contributions that could determine the game and this was summed up by scoring a goal.

“All those times when I was on the bench I used to look at where the team was lacking and the loopholes that were there and when I came in I tried to rectify them.”

He added:

“I have been working on that at training and even at home I practice shooting, long balls and through passes.

“All you have witnessed today is not a miracle. It’s something that I work on, on a daily basis, so I am grateful to God for all that.

“That goal was not an easy one but, for me, it’s now a trademark.

“If you look at the goal I scored against Chicken Inn, I did the same but it all comes with practice and it’s not miracles.”

Rhinos are now on 23 points and they will be looking to accrue more points in their coming encounters.

They face Greenfuel in their next game.
