Musician and designer Segulm Nyaminyami took to the catwalk dressed in an outfit made entirely from condoms, sending a powerful message to the youth about the importance of staying protected at the just ended Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025.
The event was showcasing the best of African fashion and creativity.
The event, which took place from October 8-12, featured a diverse range of designers, models, and industry experts, all coming together to celebrate the vibrant world of fashion.
Zimbabwe Fashion Week provided a platform for African designers to showcase their talent, creativity, and innovation.
Some of the notable designers who took part include Evelyn Mubochwa. She launched the Afro Jumbo 2026 at the Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025, known for dramatic occasion wear with red-carpet energy.
One of the standout moments of the event was the Segulm design show-stopping collection, where the designer and musician wore an outfit made entirely from condoms.
This bold statement aimed to raise awareness about the importance of staying protected, particularly among youths.
Complementing the runway was a vibrant fashion and art exhibition in partnership with First Floor Gallery, celebrating the intersection of fashion and visual culture, further underscoring ZFW’s role as a platform for multidisciplinary talent.
Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025 had both local and international designers, this year’s lineup included emerging and established names such as Botswana’s Koki Kamala, alongside Zimbabwe’s brightest creative voices.
“Beyond the runway, the real show is the joy in the room the runway was filled with endless smiles.
“Every look was glamorous, every pose was a statement, the conversations, the atmosphere was nothing short of amazing.
“Zimbabwe Fashion Week has always been about culture, innovation, and building bridges for African fashion,” said Priscilla Chigariro, Founder and Director of Zimbabwe Fashion Week.
Some of the notable designs included Koki Kamala by Koketso Chiepe, featuring premium handcrafted leather and luxury ready-to-wear.
Zimbabwe Fashion Week, which launched in 2009, has become the country’s leading fashion showcase, drawing designers, models, stylists and media from across Africa.
This year’s event was no different — packed with creativity, culture and collections that reflect the diversity of Zimbabwean fashion.
The Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2025 was a true celebration of African fashion, showcasing the continent’s rich cultural heritage and creative talent.
The event featured a range of activities, including runway shows, workshops, and networking opportunities, making it a hub for industry professionals and fashion enthusiasts alike.
