THE inaugural Zimbabwe Diaspora Week 2026 concluded on Sunday with delegates from across the globe touring President Mnangagwa’s farm, bringing to an end a week-long programme focused on investment, innovation, youth empowerment and national development.

Organised by the Zimbabwe Achievers Association (ZAA) under the theme, “Connecting global Zimbabweans for investment, innovation and youth empowerment”, the event attracted Zimbabweans from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.

The visit to the President’s farm gave delegates an opportunity to appreciate developments in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector and its contribution to economic transformation.

The week featured a Youth and Cultural Exchange Programme, the annual Diaspora Day Reception hosted at the British Ambassador’s residence, and tours of key infrastructure and development projects in and around Harare.

A major highlight was the Zimbabwe Diaspora Assembly and Forum, which brought together Government officials, business leaders, investors, development partners and diaspora delegates to discuss opportunities for greater diaspora participation in national development.

ZAA founder and president Mr Conrad Mwanza said the organisation was working towards building a strong global network of Zimbabweans committed to contributing to the country’s future.

“Our vision is to build a genuine global association of Zimbabweans who are proud of where they come from and committed to making an impact,” he said.

The week ended with the ZAA Global Awards Gala Dinner at Heritage Village, where outstanding citizens from around the world were recognised for excellence in business, sport, public service, academia and community leadership.

The event was attended by Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Minister Tino Machakaire as guest of honour.

ZAA Global chairman Mr Nicolas Bhero said the organisation’s focus was now on translating Diaspora connections into meaningful investment and development opportunities.

Delegates emphasised the need to channel Diaspora capital, skills and expertise into productive sectors such as agriculture, mining, manufacturing, tourism, technology and youth-led enterprises.

Organisers said planning for the next Zimbabwe Diaspora Week would begin soon, with efforts aimed at broadening participation and strengthening the diaspora’s contribution to national development.
