Nyanga man to perform community service for physically abusing his mother

A 23-year-old Nyanga man has been sentenced to perform 210 community service for physically abusing his mother.
The man Joseph Musona from Samakande village in Ruwangwe, appeared before the Nyanga Magistrates’ Court this week for physically abusing his mother.

According to the state, on October 1, 2024, at around 2 am, Musona returned home while he was drunk and forcibly entered his mother’s bedroom.

His mother confronted him and he became violent, shouting before physically assaulting her.

He grabbed her by the neck while dragging her off the bed and pushed her outside the house.

The incident was reported to the police leading to his arrest.

Musona was sentenced to six months in prison which was wholly suspended on condition that he performs 210 hours of community service.
