Unlike in the past when Nyaradzo would open one branch per calendar year, the programme has gained momentum with two branches having been commissioned by mid this year. Everything being equal, two additional branches could be commissioned during the remainder of the year, exceeding the previous record four-fold. The increased pace is a by-product of the growth in clientele experienced by Nyaradzo over the years.
Situated less than a kilometre from the city centre, the Zvishavane branch is the third to be established by Nyaradzo in the Midlands province after Gweru and Redcliff.
Nyaradzo chief executive Mr Phillip Mataranyika said it was only appropriate that all the essential elements of the services industry, including the provision of funeral services, play their part in complementing the mining industry, which is the backbone for Zvishavane.
Located 97km west of Masvingo, Zvishavane has vast mineral wealth — from asbestos, platinum, gold, beryl, chromite ore to diamonds.
“We know that people do not live forever and when that time comes when they are unable to breathe Nyaradzo would be there to give them a decent burial.
“While people in Zvishavane have been giving their departed decent burials since 1916 (when the town was born), Nyaradzo wants to go that extra mile but still being able to retain our cultural values,” said Mr Mataranyika.
“In everything that we do, our work is premised on what we call the LUPS principle, which is an acronym for Listening, Understanding and Providing Solutions.
“We listen more than we talk: Customers must tell us what they want and the more we listen the more we provide the solutions. Our track record speaks for itself,” he added.
Deputy Industry and International Trade Minister Mike Bimha said Nyaradzo’s grand entry into the mining town was a demonstration of confidence by the group in Zvishavane’s potential as a prime investment destination. He said the investment blends well with other employment generating initiatives in the mining town.
