UP Close and Personal, a ZBCtv production which hit the small screen on 14 June has already received a lot of positive feedback. The programme’s facebook page had also attracted quite a number of young people before the programme went on air. The programme produced and presented by Nyasha Mtamangira focuses on interviewing Bulawayo stars, socialites and public figures. So far it has managed to get into the life of Fortune Tazvivinga, a young vibrant producer. The lady wrote and produced local movie Inhlanhla, which was premiered last year, among others. Tonight at 6:30 Mtamangira will be joined on set by Jeys Marabini.
Up Close and Personal, is a 30- minute celebrity profile talk show that airs on ZBC every Saturday at 6:30pm. The talk show is meant to explore, expose and celebrate the life stories, experiences, and valuable moments in the lives of local renowned and upcoming socialites and public figures in Bulawayo.
Not only are people talking about the people who are coming for the interview but the presenter of the show, Mtamangira.
The talented female producer, with her “different” fashion sense has set the social networks ablaze with people talking about her clothes and bright hair colours.
Saturday Leisure caught up with her after a session at a local gym where she trains every morning.
The “Diva” as she is affectionately known in social circles, was keen to discuss her new programme Up Close and Personal. She also shared her fashion sense with Saturday Leisure.
Mtamangira said she is a designer by profession and has a unique fashion sense.
“I like designing, I am a designer by profession, I design my own clothes, that’s why you will not find my clothes anywhere. The idea of coming up with something different, mixing colours and fabrics, really thrills me, although most people refuse to picture me making patterns and cutting fabric. One friend of mine commented and said: ‘I know you love clothes but I didn’t know that you love them to the extent of actually making them’,” she said.
Asked about her future plans and if getting married was a part of her plan, Mtamangira said she will definitely get married.
Mtamangira said people like commenting on her life a lot. She said one man had the guts to ask her young sister Tariro, if she would ever be married.
“The man said he wondered as to who would want to marry a woman who wears pink hair. The man said if I want to get married I have to tone down on my dressing. Anyway the guy I am seeing totally understands my style. He gets me and loves me for that,” said Mtamangira.
She said she has a number of young girls following her on Facebook and Twitter and she offers them fashion, dietary and fitness tips.
“I remember there is this girl who stopped me on the streets and literally begged me to give her my pink weave,” she said.
