Nyathi has of late not been staging public performances, instead choosing only to concentrate on performing at private functions.
Nyathi, who was recently in Botswana for a number of shows, said he was returning to the stage after spending time concentrating on private functions. He, however, said that people should not mistake his absence from public platforms as a sign that he had not been performing at all. “This marks my return, I will be performing big time on stage from 2013 onwards.
However, I was not really off stage, but was mainly concentrating on doing private shows,” he said.
Nyathi said he would be returning in full force with the aid of his band, Imbongi, due to the pressure from fans who wanted to see him back on stage again.
“From now onwards I will go public with performances with both Imbongi and Bulawayo Kwela Jazz. This is due to public demand as fans still want to see me back performing and doing what I do best,” he said.
