Nyatsime College’s academic performance has been impressive, with a 95.76 percent pass rate at Ordinary Level in 2024.

The college has consistently recorded high pass rates over the past 10 years, with a notable achievement of 100 percent pass rate at Advanced Level in 2024.

Nyatsime College recently held its annual Speech and Prize Giving Day, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students, teachers, and staff.

Nyatsime College students have excelled in various fields, including sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities. The college’s debate team has produced notable alumni, including Hon Mutsawashe Mafusire, who was elected MP for Zengeza East.

The school principal, Dr Shepherd Masaraure said despite the impact of the current economic environment, the College continued implementing projects, some of which mitigate against challenges.

The college has implemented several development projects, including the construction of a second classroom block and a garment factory. The factory has the capacity to produce uniforms and other garments, generating revenue for the college.

“The school-based projects that replaced the CALAs were successfully embraced, and we are happy to announce that even the inferno affected learners had their projects already submitted meaning to say our candidates are raring to go.

The 2024 ‘O’ Level pass rate was 95.76 percent, the highest in the college’s history. ‘A’ Level pass rate was 100 percent in 2024.

The college has made significant strides in research and innovation, with projects such as avocado seed coffee and organic fertilizer production. These initiatives demonstrate the college’s commitment to entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.

The event was graced by the guest of honour, Mrs Gloria Zvaravanhu, a renowned businessperson and alumna of the college.

She said it was every parent’s duty to support their children. She encouraged learners to strive for excellence and praised the college’s commitment to producing well-rounded individuals.

“It is every parent’s dream to secure their children’s future by ensuring they enroll at institutions of exceptional, sport and art performance.

‘‘This is what Nyatsime College is doing by giving our children exceptional education. Indeed, such schools like Nyatsime do not just promise a child success but guarantees success in this competitive world where quality is sought.”

Meanwhile, about a month ago a fire broke out at Nyatsime College’s A-Level boys’ hostel, destroying most of the Upper Six students’ belongings.

The blaze was quickly brought under control by the fire brigade, preventing further damage and injuries.

The chairperson of board of governors, Mr Muguwe said: “I appraise you of the inferno that destroyed our boys ‘A’ level block; where our students lost all their belongings. My sympathies to all students
