MIGHTY Warriors midfielder, Marjoury Nyaumwe, is confident they will rise to the occasion when they meet the Black Queens of Ghana on Sunday at Rufaro in the return leg of the All-Africa Games qualifier.It will be a do-or-die affair for the Zimbabweans who need, at least, a 1-0 win over their opponents to progress to the Games scheduled for September 4 to 19 in Brazzaville, Congo.
Zimbabwe lost 1-2 to Ghana in the first leg in Accra. The Ghanaians arrived in Harare yesterday.
Nyaumwe, who is one of the senior players in the team, believes they stand a good chance of turning the tables in their favour.
“We have to win the match at all cost. A lot has changed since the first leg defeat. We have worked on our weaknesses,” said Nyaumwe. “We have no pressure playing at home. We are used to playing at Rufaro and winning matches. On a personal level, I am promising fireworks. In Accra we didn’t attack much but we have been working on that at training.
“We just need to beat them and not allow them to score a goal. I am back in my attacking midfield position as in Ghana I was forced to play in the defensive midfield position and I was restricted.
“I enjoy my game when I am attacking.”
The Mighty Warriors will soon be battling in another campaign when they compete in the Olympic Games qualifiers starting this month.
