Apostle Robert Ngwenya’s debut gospel album, Nyengetera, is proving to be more than just a musical offering as it delves deeper, ministering the word of God to those who find themselves in challenging situations.

The nine-track production released a few months ago is fused with contemporary jazz instruments which are appealing to the ear, giving the pastor an easy lyrical expression platform to minister his prophetic message.

Apostle Ngwenya, singing in Shona and Ndebele, takes listeners on a motivational journey through tracks Mkoma Mefi and Thembekile.

Tracks like More Than a Conqueror and Zimbabwe give hope to people going through trials and tribulations as they are uplifting and inspirational.

Apostle Ngwenya said he was inspired by the Spirit of God to venture into the musical journey that resulted in the album.

“The album Nyengetera came after I was inspired by the Spirit of God to minister His word through music. Music is meant to entertain, but in this case, I decided to use it as a way of ministering,” Apostle Ngwenya said.

The apostle’s father’s influence is felt in the instrumentation of tracks Nekutenda and I Need You.

Though he does not have a favourite track, Ngwenya said Mkoma Mefi and Nyengetera seem to be fan favourites.

“I don’t have a personal favourite track, but I’m glad that people like tracks — Mkoma Mefi and Nyengetera. Even radio stations are saying these are the most requested songs off the album,” he said.

The City of Christ International Apostle said the album would not be a success without the support he got from his congregants.
