John Nyikadzino has clocked 75 league games in charge of Chapungu making him the longest serving coach among the current crop of coaches in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Nyikadzino was thrust at the helm of the Gweru-based club in 2012 while still in the Central Region Division One league.
He won promotion into the premiership at the end of the 2013 season and clocked 75 games in charge of the Airmen when his charges beat Mutare City last weekend.
In an interview, Nyikadzino said he was proud of his achievements so far.
a?It gives me peace of mind to know that my services are very much appreciated at Chapungu. Like any other person, I wouldnat want to be moving from one team to another,a? said Nyikadzino.
His secret to serving a long time in one team is patience and trustworthiness.
a?Being trustworthy, patience and following my employeras orders has made me reach this far. My employers count on me as they know I am good for the job. I am where I am because of them,a? he added.
Speaking on the PSL break, Nyikadzino said it was good for his charges as they need rest.
a?I am confident that the break will not affect the rhythm of my players because they really need to rest. We need to be working on the remaining games with less pressure,a? he said.
Relegation is his biggest worry.
a?We are working very hard to avoid relegation. We want to do better than last year come end of the season,a? he said.
Chapungu sit on position 12 with 18 points. They are 12 points shy of log leaders Highlanders.
