4 (a) In the Sermon on the Mount, what were Jesus’ comments on the laws

(i) ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’, [6]

and (ii) ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’?[6]

(b) Explain with reference to the above laws what Jesus meant by saying he had not come to abolish the Law but to fulfil (NEB complete) it. [6]

5 (a) Describe the occasion when Jesus was asked to go to Jairus’ daughter. (Do not include the healing of the woman who touched Jesus’ robe.) [12]

(b) What lessons did Jesus want his hearers to learn from this parable? [6]

9 (a) Describe the arrangements Judas made to betray Jesus, and where and how he did this. [8]

(b) What reasons may Judas have had for betraying Jesus? [6]

(c) What indications are there in the Gospels that Judas realised he had acted wrongly? [4]
