But it was the former Highlanders forward, who has returned home after a stint in Cyprus, who has filled the club’s remaining slot.
Last night, the Dynamos executive were set to meet with the player, who is reported to have accepted their offer and was scheduled to arrive in the capital.
The Herald revealed last week that Tarumbwa was on the DeMbare radar.
Club secretary-general, Ray Kazembe, said the player’s handlers had signed a contract on his behalf and the club was yet to meet the forward.
“He has accepted our terms and is scheduled to come here today.
“We want him and he is a free agent. His agent has signed a contract on his behalf and we are yet to meet him,” said Kazembe.
The 26-year-old player, who also plays as an attacking midfielder, has been playing in Cyprus where he featured for EN Paralimni and Apop Kinyras.
Tarumbwa left Highlanders in 2008 when he joined Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge.
But he had a short stint with the European side and briefly returned home to join then Premiership side Bantu Rovers. B
He didn’t last at the club, which is owned by Methembe Ndlovu, and is now plying its trade in Southern Region Division One.
The former CBZ Soccer finalist in 2007 now joins DeMbare with a lot of expectations weighing on his shoulders as he replaces Chinyama who has joined Absa Premiership champions Orlando Pirates.

Dynamos also tried to lure the FC Platinum duo of Premiership leading goal scorer Nelson Maziwisa, who is on loan to Shabanie, and Donald Ngoma.
Following Chinyama’s departure, the DeMbare strike force was left a lightweight unit with Rodrick Mutuma the only established striker.
And the club on Tuesday also expressed interest in Gwekwerere, who has not been enjoying game time at the Green Machine.
However, since the window has closed it means the striker will remain at Makepekepe until his contract ends in December.
The Premier Soccer League has released a provisional squad for all the players that have been registered during the second window, which closed on Tuesday midnight.
The Castle Lager Premiership clubs have made a number of signings to boost their squads ahead of the second half of the Premiership.
CAPS United have made three big signings — acquiring the trio of Shingirai Kawondera, Leonard Fiyado and Hardlife Zvirekwi – while they have also promoted Lee Ruwidzo, Chris Mverechena, Kith Chikotora and Lawrence Chapanduka from their juniors.
Champions Dynamos have signed Cliff Sekete and Tarumbwa while they have also registered Zambian midfielder Arthur Kaseloki, former captain Desmond Maringwa and the junior’s trio of Malcom Chinhoyi, Blessing Moyo and goalkeeper Manfred Mlingani.
Former Highlanders and Mwana Africa defender-cum-striker Chipo Tsodzo is back in the Premiership and has joined Quelaton from Division One side Zimbabwe Saints. FC Platinum has reunited with striker William Manondo who had a six-month stint at Kugona Kunenge Kudada last season before he was deemed excess baggage by former coach Rahman Gumbo in December.
