The scholarship is a brainchild of Zifa president, Cuthbert Dube, and the donation came through Buymore Investments. Wavell Gunda, a representative of Buymore, handed over the sponsorship package to Nare at her school in Thuli last Friday.
“This scholarship came through after the launch of the Sylvia Dube women’s football tournament and is geared to reward football excellence as well as academic excellence. Under this scholarship, we will provide school fees, books, uniforms and we hope to find attachment for the student so that she gets formal employment later on,” said Gunda. Nare said she will try to work hard and hopes to play for Mighty Warriors in future.
