THE Sheriff of the High Court has attached eight trucks and some equipment belonging to Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Planning Minister, Obert Mpofu, over an undisclosed debt owed to a Harare company.

To recover its money, Menwood Trading Private Limited has been granted the greenlight to auction eight Volvo trucks, three trailers and a mud drilling compressor from the minister’s company, Maminza Transport Private Limited.

The attached property will be auctioned by Hollands Auctioneers in Bulawayo tomorrow (Friday March, 11, 2016) and buyers have already been invited to view the assets today.

Comment could not be obtained from Menwood Trading as their phones rang unanswered. The company supplies Volvo truck parts.

Minister Mpofu runs several businesses in different sectors of the economy.

He has interest in tourism, transport, farming, real estate and construction.

A few years ago he ventured into the banking and newspaper industries where he ran Allied Bank and The Zimbabwe Mail.

Both entities collapsed.
