October 5 bowling tourney on cards

CITY Bowling Club are hosting this year’s Zimbabwe October ‘5 bowls tournament which is expected to feature the cream of bowlers from all over the country.
The three-day competition, which has 12 teams taking part, is scheduled to get underway this morning and will end on Sunday.
Both men and women will be competing in Singles, Pairs, Trips and Fours.

City Bowling Club manager, Joyce Kachale, said their preparations for the event had gone according to plan.
“We have been preparing the green for some days now and we believe all is now set for the games.

“We would like to thank our sponsors and some bowlers who have assisted us so that we can have a good tournament,” said Kachale. Five-time nationals champion Roy Garden is one of the big names expected to dominate this event.
“The October Fives will help me a lot since am preparing to go for my big tournament, the Champion of Champions in New Zealand, next month.
