Old Skool music sessions launched at Dandaro Inn two weeks ago have gained popularity with patrons thronging the venue for the past weekends for their favourite music selections.DJs Tich Mataz, Kelvin “Soul Supreme S” Sifelani, Kay Cee “The Gigmaster”, Tommy Dutch and Seductive Gee have livened up the place in an amazing way.
The popular joint Dandaro Inn (formerly Castle Bar) is located at the Harare Exhibition Park.
The wheel spinners take turns to bring their different selections, showcasing their music-mixing talents on the turntables.
Dandaro Inn manager Yasin Dhala said he was impressed by the turnout at the venue over the past two weekends and promised to bring more exciting activities to the sessions.
“The response has been amazing. Numbers have been increasing since the launch day and we hope people will continue coming,” he said.
“It shows that people are still fond of old skool music and mature fans are introducing young generations to exciting types of yesteryear music. The DJs are doing well and we will introduce more exciting activities during the session to ensure that we keep everyone excited.
“We are very happy that the mature crowd that has been complaining for months because they were no longer being catered for and were having to simply enjoy mature musical entertainment provided by television channels or just playing their favourite old skool songs on radio, can now enjoy the best old skool music by their favourite and seasoned DJs.”
Yasin said they had created a good outing environment at the venue to make their patrons feel at home.
“Dandaro Inn has just been renovated to the best standards to ensure people who enjoy an attractive venue complimented by good music feel at home.
“We also have a great African Cuisine and delicious ‘chisa nyama’ to ensure that all your entertainment and weekend desires are catered for.”
The old skool sessions continue this weekend with afternoon sessions tomorrow and Sunday.
