South African Gospel musician Oncemore Six has continued to strengthen his musical bond with Zimbabwean Gospel star Everton Mlalazi, with the two artistes recently sharing the stage at the successful Sound of Calvary concert. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DVTc3siWa/?mibextid=wwXIfr
The concert was held at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City in Gauteng, South Africa, on September 5, with Oncemore Six taking centre stage and delivering a powerful worship experience for Gospel lovers.
The sold-out event celebrated Oncemore Six’s journey as a Gospel musician and his rise to become one of the household names in the Southern African Gospel scene.
Having spent years working as a backing vocalist for established Gospel musicians such as Solly Mahlangu, Dr Tumi, Takesure Zamar Ncube and Takie Ndou, Oncemore Six eventually carved his own path with songs including Ngeke Ng’suke Kuwe, Here On Our Knees, Umhlatshelo (The Sacrifice) and Ohlonishwayo, to mention a few.
The Sound of Calvary concert gave him an opportunity to showcase his music and ministry on a bigger platform while creating an atmosphere of worship and praise.
“The event was sold out. Thousands gathered, every seat was filled, but none of it was about us. Every voice, every song, every moment and all glory belonged to Him. I would also like to thank everyone who attended the event to worship to the Sound of Calvary,” said Oncemore Six.
One of the highlights of the event was the appearance of Mlalazi, who brought a Zimbabwean touch to the concert with a performance of popular Gospel song Ziyamazi uMelusi.
Mlalazi’s appearance was more than just a guest performance as it highlighted the strong relationship that has developed between the two musicians over the years.
The two artistes previously worked together on Muri Mutsvene, a worship song featured on Mlalazi’s 2026 album In The Presence 3: Great God.
Their musical relationship was further strengthened when Oncemore Six featured at Mlalazi’s Ekhaya Worship Festival in Bulawayo.
Oncemore Six was among the leading Gospel artistes at the festival, in 2025 and 2026, where he delivered a memorable performance, giving worshippers a taste of his distinctive sound and energetic stage presence.
The continued collaboration between the two musicians reflects the growing musical relationship between Gospel artistes from Zimbabwe and South Africa.
