One dies, eight injured in Nyanga accident

ONE person died, while nine others were seriously injured after an overloaded Toyota Wish they were travelling in overturned along Mutare-Nyanga Road yesterday.

Revai Maeka (30), who was driving the vehicle with eight passengers on board died, on the spot while the injured passengers were rushed to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luxson Chananda confirmed the incident which happened at the 40km-peg along Mutare-Nyanga Road near Chidahuyo Business Centre.

“Maeka was driving a Toyota Wish vehicle along Mutare-Nyanga Road towards Mutare with eight passengers on board. Upon approaching the 40km peg near Chidahuyo Business Centre, he lost control of the vehicle which rolled several times,” said Insp Chananda.
