One-stop NetOne shop for Karoi

NETONE, the country’s second biggest telecommunications operator, has opened a one-stop shop in Karoi that is expected to benefit people in Hurungwe District who previously travelled to Chinhoyi for services. This is part of the company’s expansion drive which will see the roll out of Long Term Evolution (LTE) or 4G services, in all places where NetOne has base stations.

LTE is an advanced connectivity system that guarantees fast Internet services. The Karoi branch brings to 32 the number of shops across the country. The company executive for retail and sales Mr Nyaradzai Shoko said the branch will bring services closer to the people. “The Karoi branch is important and strategic in that it covers people from all the parts of Hurungwe, as well as save them money in terms of bus fare,” said Mr Shoko.

“It is a one-tier shop where all NetOne services such as SIM sales and replacement are done.” The development will see the engagement of additional One Fusion brand ambassadors. Already, 20 000 ambassadors have been recruited so far. With an integrated product that brings together stakeholders associated with Government’s Command Agriculture programme, including the Grain Marketing Board, farmers are expected to be guaranteed convenience.

Mobile financial services and customer relations manager Mr Tinashe Chari said farmers, traditional leaders and pensioners had started receiving money through the OneMoney platform. The community, which is predominately made of farmers, has welcomed the development. Headman Chaparanganda said the branch and products had brought convenience to the community in Hurungwe.

“We are very happy as the Hurungwe community because we will now save on bus fare. We used to pay up to $5 to get to Chinhoyi for various services, including SIM card replacement,” he said.
