ONE WIN EVERY 6 GAMES

THE three foreign coaches who have guided the Warriors in the last 18 years have won just FOUR competitive matches in 26 games − at an average of ONE win every SIX games.

If we add the four friendly matches we played under their guidance, the statistics show that we have won just FIVE of our 30 matches at an average again of ONE win every SIX games.

The three foreign coaches, who have taken charge of the Warriors in the last 18 years, are Valinhos (Brazil), Zdravko Logarusic (Croatia) and Michael Nees (Germany).

Nees is set to become the first foreign coach to guide the Warriors at the AFCON finals in Morocco in December

Although there have been some question marks over his capacity to lead the team in Morocco, among some ZIFA board members, it’s now certain that he will be in charge.

Collectively, the three coaches have guided the Warriors over 40 months of action.

It means that if the 30 matches, which they have taken charge of, were played without a break over the 40 months they coached the Warriors, there will be, at least, a game every month.

And, the Warriors would have been winning, on average, a game every EIGHT months.

Together they have lost 14 of the 30 games they took charge of, which represents about half the number of matches they superintended over.

Nees has won just two games, in the dozen matches which he has guided the Warriors, Valinhos also won two while Loga won just one match.

Incredibly, all their wins have come against only two teams Namibia and Botswana.

Valinhos

Valinhos and Nees, in their official matches in charge of our Warriors, have only beaten just one opponent – NAMIBIA.

None of our three foreign coaches managed to inspire the Warriors to score more than two goals, in just one match, in the 30 matches, including four friendly internationals, which our boys played under their guidance.

A combined points tally of 26 out of a possible 90 points, when you include the four friendlies, gives a return of 43,33 percent.

When one removes the friendlies, the statistics plunge and you now have 23 out of a possible 78 points, a return of 29.48 percent.

This means three men have surrendered 80,52 percent of the value of what they have been fighting for.

  1. Three coaches, one team, same results. In Math we look at the common denominator. In this case it’s the Warriors. Even if we had capacity to hire Amorim and Ten Hag to coach the Warriors, the results would remain pathetic.
