In a vibrant celebration of faith and community, the inaugural “Resurrection Rhapsody” concert, hosted by emerging promoter, Tikiti, took centre stage at Glamis Arena in Harare.

Despite inclement weather that affected several open-air events, this gathering brought together top musicians who delivered powerful performances that uplifted the spirits of attendees.

Headlining the event was Judikay, the acclaimed Nigerian gospel artiste whose presence electrified the atmosphere. She was joined by a diverse line-up including United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean sensation Eleana Makombe, the gospel couple, “The Cherayis”, and renowned gospel artistes such as Everton Mlalazi, Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, Robyn and the Joyful Praise Choir.

This concert not only marked the celebration of Easter but also served as the official launch of Tikiti, a forward-thinking online ticketing platform.

The night kicked off with Robyn followed by Sharon Manyonganise-Cherayi, warming up the stage as early attendees trickled in.

Gospel diva, Eleana Makombe soon stole the spotlight, engaging the audience with a captivating performance that felt more like an interactive karaoke session.

Fans enthusiastically joined in, singing along to hits such as “Kana Jehovha avhura masuwo”, creating an electrifying atmosphere of worship.

Takesure Zamar delivered a heartfelt performance, featuring his powerful worship anthem “Ndinokuregerera”, which resonated deeply with the audience.

Following him, Everton Mlalazi took the stage, enchanting fans with his uplifting songs like “Hakuna Wakaita saJesu” and “Pfugama Unamate,” alongside his latest offering, “Gwayana”, which was met with enthusiasm.

Seasoned gospel artiste Janet Manyowa also made her mark, skilfully navigating the chilly weather to keep the audience engaged and energised.

She served as the perfect precursor to the head-liner, ensuring the crowd was primed for Judikay’s grand entrance.

When Judikay finally took the stage, she brought an aura of excitement that was palpable in the arena.

Her performance was not just a series of songs; it was an experience that resonated with both the faithful and the curious.

Despite the modest attendance, those present were fully immersed, praising and worshipping as the night unfolded.

One of the key highlights of the evening was the innovative introduction of the Tikiti online ticketing platform. Organiser Tatenda Gaylord Rushwaya expressed his vision, stating, “It’s not about numbers; it’s about the launch of this new online ticketing system.”

He emphasised the convenience it provides, allowing attendees to purchase tickets in advance and avoid the hassle of queues at the venue.

“About 90 percent of those who attended this show used Tikiti,” Gaylord noted, highlighting the platform’s early success. “We want people to embrace this new way of attending events, making the experience smoother and more enjoyable.”

While the turnout may have been lower than expected, the event showcased the potential for future concerts to thrive under the Tikiti brand.

The commitment to enhancing the audience experience through innovation and community engagement was evident, and both performers and attendees embraced the spirit of the occasion.

As the night concluded, it was clear that “Resurrection Rhapsody” was more than just a concert; it was a celebration of faith, unity, and the dawn of a new era in event ticketing.

With plans for future events on the horizon, Tikiti is poised to redefine how audiences experience live performances, ensuring that the spirit of worship and celebration continues to flourish.
