Open your eyes to the possibilities around you

LUKE 24:31-32

And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. [32] And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

This was when Jesus had risen from the dead. He was walking among His disciples, and they did not know.

They walked with Him to Emmaus and they were distraught about His death. The answer to their sorrow and the cause of their joy was with them. They had what it took to prove to the Jews that their Master had told them the truth when He foretold His resurrection. But they did not know it.

Around you are answers to your present predicament. The solution to your problem is around you, but you are ignorant of it.

How many times have you searched for something elsewhere, that is in your pocket or even in your hand?

How many times have you worried about a thing when the solution was laying right in front of you? How many times have you been worried about a think and then the answer comes to your mind as flash?

You have hidden potentials in you. You have big ideas to solve your situation. Your eyes are held from seeing it. They are not open to the hidden potentials and abilities that lay in you. You are walking with dormant ideas and potentials in you. When your eyes open, you will realise what is inside of you.

One day, Hagar was desperate as her son was crying for water, in a wilderness. Right where she was, there was an oasis, and she was unaware. There was water for her child, right where she was. God opened her eyes. The Bible story reads in Genesis 21:17-19 as follows: “And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. [18] Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. [19] And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”

When God opened her eyes, she saw, not something like a bottle of water Abraham gave her that had run out, but a well of water.

God does not give a supply. He gives the source of the supply. A man gives you a bottle, but God gives you a well. You have a well of ideas, right near where you are. You do not need a bottle of water of employment or a salary. You need a well; a source of wealth. You do not need help of men. You need God, the Source of the Resource.

In Ephesians 1:17-18 the Bible says: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: [18] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”

The believer’s eyes of understanding must open so that he may know the hope of his calling and the riches of the glory of God’s inheritance. There are riches in the inheritance of God that the saints possess. But their eyes must open to the knowledge of these riches, and they begin to exploit them. When it comes to the inheritance of the saints, ignorance is not bliss. People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Jacob slept all night and was not aware of the presence of God. When he woke out of his sleep, he recognised that God was in that place, unbeknown to Him.  Genesis 28:16-17 reads: “And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. [17] And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”

He was right at the gate of Heaven, but ignorant of it.

You may be at the gate of success and you do not know it. Open your eyes and look at the hidden potentials in you.

In 2 Kings 6:14-17, Gehazi only saw the horses of the enemy, but did not see that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about him and Elisha. There was more with them than were with their enemies.

If your eyes open, you will see what endless possibilities you have.
