Some US citizens in the administrative structure of their government are providing the opposition CCC with political “strategy and advice”.
During the past two days, they advised the opposition outfit to deny all results of the August 23 election as a plan to pile pressure on the SADC bloc to disregard Zimbabwe and further isolate it.
Some senior opposition officials have been dispatched for megaphone diplomacy.
The CCC and its leadership is just playing by the Western book of covert and overt operations to harm the interests of the country by trying to create an environment that “without the CCC” Zimbabwe will never go forward.
However, this is a conversation that will soon vindicate this writer and make people understand why the opposition CCC accepted parliamentary results first, and later rejected them together with presidential ones at a time Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema chaired the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.
The US and the European Union (EU) want Zimbabwe to become a victim of their neo-colonial aggression of the soulless western pax-Americana led alliance and their opposition to Zimbabwe’s internal processes is becoming a struggle of David and Goliath.
It can never be a factual assessment that free and fair elections in Zimbabwe are only produced when the West-backed opposition wins.
Yet, when ZANU PF is winning elections under unfair conditions of national economic strangulation through sanctions and coercive diplomacy as instruments of deterrence to stop the national liberation of the black majority, there are omissions to some of these crucial facts.
From the postcolonial lens, the voice of the people who facilitated ZANU PFs victory through the ballot risk being drowned by that of those being used by the West to constantly restrict Zimbabwe’s progress to structures that are by-products of colonialism, imperialism and neo-imperialism.
The opposition in Zimbabwe is projecting their uncritical political and ideological agendas.
By the way, the CCC is prating about the need for the African Union (AU) and the SADC to “scaffold new elections” in Zimbabwe are banking on diplomacy they have never practiced anywhere.
The AU and SADC cannot and will never make such decisions on behalf of a sovereign country, in particular, to overturn internal processes outside their jurisdiction and mandate.
That in itself is illegal interference which the CCC is calling, but can also be fought and dismissed in equal measure as colonialism was driven out of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola and the entire region.
These two blocs should not be abused for they do not possess the power of political governance over nation states. Without AU or SADC members, the blocs will cease to exist.
Zim’s struggle, Africa’s struggle
Ideology is the most important vector of the vision of the state and its politics.
Progressive countries are reacting and responding to the Zimbabwean cause for non-interference in its internal processes with enthusiasm.
The biggest misfortune, however, is those who are taking sides with the West and other regional proxies disguised as democratic champions, yet they are victims of discreet and sometimes overt, one-dimensional, unidirectional and neatly packaged neo-colonial narratives that deny them the ability to see things as they are, for they are.
In terms of regional politics, the CCC, by working with the USA to pressure SADC and other governments have lost the opportunity to critically engage and interrogate the rich and complex history of revolutionary and liberation movements in southern Africa whose political, social and economic cooperation is a pathway to improve the relevance of the fight against neo-colonialism in the continent.
The anti-colonial and anti-neo-colonial struggle undertaken by Zimbabwe was the expression of the will of the people to be free, to govern themselves and not to submit to a foreign conqueror.
The idea for Zimbabwe and Africans to free themselves remains key in the struggle and determination to self-rule.
To suppress this idea, the USA (through the CCC) is blocking that consciousness because the West is alive to the idea that the freedom of the people of Zimbabwe and Africa means the death of capitalism, imperialism and neo-imperialism.
Zimbabweans and Africans are neither scared nor intimidated by neo-colonial compradors.
There has to be a continued sharp focus to enhance the struggle of the black majority of the country and continent for national liberation and not on the class struggle of the politically savvy white proletariats for their rights, while disparaging the rights of the indigenous people.
Irreparable damage
The appearance of the neo-colonial establishments in Africa today serve as a signal to flee.
It is the view of many Africans that colonialism, neo-imperialism and neo-colonialism are more evil than good.
The same dishonest people and their governments who the opposition CCC is embracing in Zimbabwe today were responsible for destroying Africa’s civilisational foundations, they caused irreparable damage to Africa’s culture and traditions, and threw the continent’s natural evolution back for many years.
While colonialism left, the structures it built are being resurrected and resuscitated by the new crop of ‘politicians’ in Africa.
These new politicians represent the heavy and tragic legacy of colonialism, for their think the independence of Africa and Zimbabwe, in particular, is objectionable.
It is becoming more evident by the day that the CCC and other regional pro-western and pro- neo-liberal acolytes are having deficiencies on what has to be the configuration of Africa’s trajectories that present fruitful adaptations to our existing realities and environments.
Neo-colonialism as a new form of Africa’s disenfranchisement is being planted through the establishment of puppetry parties that are eager and enthusiastic to practice differentiation, where they force the inclusion of the ideas of the West and isolating the values, beliefs and customs of the indigenous, the natives.
