Optimism High as Sanganayi-Hlanganani Expo Draws to a close in Manicaland

Tourism operators and visitors at the ongoing Sanganayi-Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in Manicaland say they are buoyant about the potential business the 2025 edition of Zimbabwe’s premier travel showcase could generate.

The annual event, often dubbed “Africa’s tourism meeting place,” has drawn local and international exhibitors ranging from safari operators and hotel groups to airlines and travel technology firms. Early indications suggest that interest in Zimbabwe as a destination is rising, particularly on the back of regional adventure tourism and cultural heritage offerings.

For many businesses, Sanganayi represents an opportunity to secure new partnerships, sign contracts, and showcase Zimbabwe’s tourism assets to global buyers.

Mr Jamie Mnangagwa of Drummond Safaris said the atmosphere is already encouraging and is optimistic of continued growth in the sector.

“What we are seeing here is a renewed confidence in Zimbabwe as a tourism destination. The level of engagement with buyers has been very positive, and we are optimistic that this year’s expo will lead to significant deals for operators across the country,” revealed Mr Mnangagwa

Visitors attending the expo echoed that sentiment, noting both the diversity of exhibitors and the opportunities for networking.

Tourism officials say the expo is not just about immediate business transactions but also about positioning Zimbabwe for long-term growth in a competitive global market. With Manicaland playing host this year, attention has also turned to the province’s own attractions – from the rolling Eastern Highlands to cultural experiences unique to the region.

The Sanganayi-Hlanganani Expo continues through the weekend, with organisers expecting record attendance and a strong pipeline of investment interest.
