Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbuyani World Tourism Expo, Zimbabwe’s premier tourism showcase, is set to make waves this Saturday as it relocates from Mutare Sports Club to the banks of the Save River for the inaugural Save Beach Bash Tourism Jamboree.

Scheduled for Saturday, the event marks a strategic shift in promoting Manicaland Province as a dynamic and emerging tourism destination.

The Save Beach Bash will be staged under the iconic Birchenough Bridge, a historic steel arch bridge that spans the Save River.

Constructed in 1935 and designed by renowned engineer Ralph Freeman—also credited with the Sydney Harbour Bridge—the Birchenough Bridge remains Zimbabwe’s only suspension bridge and a symbol of architectural excellence.

Its imposing structure, rising 280 feet above the river and stretching 1,080 feet in length, continues to serve as a vital transport link and a visual landmark of national pride.

The beach beneath the bridge has recently been developed into Zimbabwe’s newest tourism attraction, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational potential.

The Save Beach Bash will feature a variety of sporting activities including beach volleyball, beach rugby, and tug of war, aimed at engaging local communities and visitors alike.

As the sun sets over the Save River, the event will transition into a vibrant musical celebration.

A diverse lineup of artists is expected to perform, including Fungisai, Vee Mampeezy, Mark Ngwazi, Dorcas Moyo, Andy Muridzo, Killer T, Jah Signal, Clement Magwaza and many more.

The evening promises a fusion of genres, reflecting Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary musical landscape.

The relocation of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo to Manicaland underscores the province’s growing significance in Zimbabwe’s tourism strategy.

By leveraging the natural allure of the Save River and the historical gravitas of Birchenough Bridge, the event aims to attract both domestic and international tourists, stimulate local economic activity, and reinforce the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism development.

The Save Beach Bash Tourism Jamboree is not only a celebration of Zimbabwe’s scenic and cultural assets but also a forward-looking initiative to diversify the nation’s tourism offerings.

With its blend of sport, music, and heritage, the event is poised to become a fixture on the national tourism calendar.

The expo, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), forms part of the broader Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi Expo — now firmly established as Africa’s premier tourism marketplace, showcasing the continent’s tourism assets and facilitating serious business-to-business engagement
