THE Orap Zenzele Isuzu Soccer Tournament, an annual event for Under-20 boys and girls, has been rescheduled to July 4–5 .

The change was necessitated by a clash of dates with the National Association of Secondary Schools (Nash) Championships. The Orap tournament was initially set for June 21–22.

Chinhoyi High School is hosting the Nash Championships, which run from today to Saturday.
Orap Chief Executive Officer, Mvuselelo Huni, confirmed the tournament will still be held at Gifford High School, its traditional venue.

She noted the postponement has provided additional time to mobilise resources and enhance preparations for the event.

“It’s been good for us, as it has given us time to prepare, fundraise and spread the word about the upcoming tournament,” said Huni.

She said there are no changes to the original format — 16 school teams drawn from four provinces will take part.
This year’s edition of the Orap Zenzele Isuzu Tournament will feature teams from Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Midlands and Bulawayo Metropolitan Province in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.

Orap, in partnership with Autoworld, the official representative of the Isuzu brand in Zimbabwe, are the sponsors of the tournament.
