Star FM’s Drive Time presenter and turntablist Otis Fraser will tonight represent Zimbabwe at the Big Brother Africa — The Chase Channel O Party Zone. Popularly known to listeners as “The Flow”, Otis joins a host of other African finest DJs to rock the house a week before the reality show comes to an end.

Other DJs that have certainly delivered their share of smoking beats this season on Saturday night Channel O parties include Kiss FM’s DJ Hipnotic (Kenya), Energy FM’s Jossy Joss (Namibia), South Africa’s DJ VanD from Kaya FM, Power FM’s DJ Creejay (Zambia), DJ Cutrite from Botswana’s Gabz FM, Cool FM’s DJ Xclusive from Nigeria and DJ Klips from Power 101 FM in Malawi.

However, as they say it is always good to save the best for last. In this vein, “The Flow” is expected to prove a thing or two that despite Zimbabwean housemates Hakeem and Pokello being evicted from the show, the party continues unabated.

“The Flow” follows on last week’s sensational performance by the Zimbabwean duo of Tehn Diamond and Junior Brown. The rappers virtually had the audience eating out of their hands after performing the song “Grown Up Kid” before a medley of “Madrinks” and “Happy” which are dance floor fillers.

Even show host IK admitted Tehn Diamond gave a spirited performance.
Expectations are high tonight as housemates and Africa will be locked into the party zone with “The Flow” behind the decks doing what he knows best.

When it comes to deejaying in Zimbabwe you cannot leave out “The Flow”. Like his stage name suggests, music literally flows like water downstream be it hip-hop, R&B or house. “The Flow” throws down some serious mixes whether you are an old skool or new skool head.

Once the most sought after DJ on the party scene in Bulawayo nightclubs, Otis has been staging gigs in London and Leeds over the years. A part-time producer, he shot to fame as a radio and club DJ in the early 90s, having been a hit on then Radio 3 (Power FM) and ZBCTV’s Teen Scene.

He left Zimbabwe for South Africa where he produced “Tsodiyo” and “Final Battle” for the late Lebo Mathosa of Boom Shaka and Bongo Muffin, respectively.

He then moved to Botswana where he continued with television broadcasting and radio work. He has also contributed to the pioneering projects of other producers, including Skizo.

It is always a joy to listen to “The Flow” be it in the club or on radio. He returned to join Zimbabwe’s leading radio Star FM, the first commercial station to hit the airwaves, where he hosts the “Flow Tyme Drive Show”.
