Outgoing Pakistan ambassador hails relations

in many areas of mutual co-operation.
He said the relations flourished during his tenure.
Ambassador Shar said he received a lot of support from Government during his tour of duty in Zimbabwe.
“During my stay in Zimbabwe I have really enjoyed good co-operation from the Government of Zimbabwe,” he said.
“I hope the co-operation is going to continue. Our co-operation has actually increased during my two-year stay in Zimbabwe.”
Ambassador Shar hailed President Mugabe as a brilliant and intelligent leader.
“This country has intelligent and brilliant leadership in President Robert Gabriel Mugabe. I discussed with the President issues of mutual interest and defence,” he said.
Ambassador Shar said there were a number of Pakistan intellectuals working in Zimbabwe.
He said Zimbabwe was also sending some of its students to his country for further studies.
Ambassador Shar said he worked hard to bring Pakistan business people to invest in Zimbabwe. As a result, he said, a number of Pakistan products were now found locally such as Pakistan rice and biscuits.
“During my stay here, more than 1 000 business people have come to Zimbabwe and they are doing good business,” said Ambassador Shar.
On the international arena, Ambassador Shar said Harare and Islamabad had supported each other on several issues. Ambassador Shar said after serving in Zimbabwe he was going to retire from the diplomatic service for which he worked for more than 30 years.
“I have been in the diplomatic service since 1976 and this was my last posting,” he said.
