THERE has been an outpouring of both grief and sympathy, among H-Metro readers, to the mother of slain business executive Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, after she broke her silence after the tragic death of her daughter.
Zandile died together with her two young children at their home in England and British police suspect that her husband, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, is the prime suspect in the trio’s death.
Tshuma was arrested by South African police, after fleeing from the UK, and is expected to make his second appearance in court this week.
Last week, Zandile’s mother, Velile Khumalo, a 76-year-old retired schoolteacher, broke her silence on the family tragedy when she spoke to our sister newspaper B-Metro.
She revealed she had been looking forward to seeing her daughter and grandchildren again in December when Zandile and her daughters were expected to visit Zimbabwe.
“I can only accept what God has allowed to happen. My only wish now is that my daughter and grandchildren get buried here in Zimbabwe at Luveve Cemetery. Makhu (Zandile) had the two sweetest daughters ever, my grandchildren. They are all gone, just like that,” she said. There has been an outpouring of grief and sympathy among our readers, including foreign nationals, since we published her remarks.
These are some of their comments:

We don’t know what drove a decent family to this. But divorce is not easy. At some point he was decent, and this family was happy. What changed him needs to be investigate to avoid this happening again in the future to other families. Men might hate their wife but they will do anything for their kids. Not kill them. Something triggered this. That is something we need to understand. — Joao de Matos
