HIGHLANDERS have hailed their supporters for the overwhelming response to the club’s new partnership with CBZ Bank, which has already seen more than 2 500 fans sign up for the Highlanders Supporters Bank Card.
Launched earlier this year, the card gives members the ability to deposit, withdraw, save and send money like any standard bank account. But, as Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe explained, every transaction also feeds directly back into the club.
“The Highlanders Supporters Bank Card offers all the functionality of a standard bank account.
“They can easily deposit, withdraw, save and send money. However, its most powerful feature is its direct link to the club’s success. With every single transaction you make, you are contributing to our financial stability and future growth,” said Mhlophe.
He added: “We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the 2,504 members and fans who have already embraced this initiative. Their early adoption of the card has shown incredible faith and commitment, and we are truly grateful for their support. Each of them is a pioneer in what we hope will become a movement that strengthens the foundation of our club for years to come.”
Mhlophe stressed that the project forms part of the club’s broader strategy to diversify income. “This initiative is a crucial step in our strategic plan to diversify revenue streams. By creating new income channels beyond traditional sources, we can generate additional funds to invest in our team, infrastructure, and youth development programs,” he said.
He encouraged more members to join, saying: “By participating, they are not just getting a bank card; they are investing in the future of the Highlanders Football Club. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient club that we can all be proud of.”
The Highlanders boss also pointed to the importance of their partnership with Nyaradzo Life Assurance, which runs the popular Scorepack plan. The club is working with Nyaradzo to bring in more qualified agents, while the partnership already covers maintenance of the Bosso team bus, reducing costs for the club.
On other fronts, the “Business Friends of Bosso” consortium has raised its prize money for the Player of the Month award from US$400 to US$500 for the 2025 season.
“This added incentive is expected to further motivate the squad throughout the season, fostering a competitive and high performance environment,” Mhlophe said.
He also acknowledged the continued backing of the consortium: “The enduring partnership highlights a strong community bond and a shared vision for the success of the club.”
Highlanders also confirmed a new kit deal with Vecchio, which will supply uniforms for all the club’s sides, from juniors to the women’s team, creating a unified brand across the board.
