NEW: Padziva hosts Chibuku Neshamwari

THE 2024 edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Harare provincial final will be held at Padziva Camp and Caravan in Dzivarasekwa tomorrow.

This year’s edition will be held under the theme “Tamba Tione, Gida Sibone!”

More than 10 groups drawn from different parts of Harare are taking part in the competition.

Chibuku Neshamwari is sponsored by Delta Beverages in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and the Zimbabwe National Traditional Dance Association (ZNTDA).

The competition’s provincial finals have been running since May 11, with the national final pencilled for July 27.

Groups that come out tops in the provincial finals walk away with US$2 500, with the first and second runners-up receiving US$1 500 and US$1 000 respectively.

The first prize for the national final is US$15 000, with the first runner-up getting US$10 000, while third position is worth US$7 500.
