PAGEANT guru, Sipho Mazibuko, says she has decided to call it quits after more than three decades in the industry.
The Strides Modelling Agency founder is now into events management.
“To be honest with you, I think it’s now the right time for me to hang my stilettos after all I have done in pageantry.
“I have left a legacy and I can’t seem to be competing with my students who have started their modelling agencies.
“I was also given an honorary award last year and I think I should leave pageantry for the youngsters,” she said.
Mazibuko used to run Mr Miss Rural and Miss Summer Strides.
“You can’t talk of modelling in Zimbabwe without mentioning my name because I did quite a lot for the industry.
“I can safely say modelling has been part of life since the days I won the Miss Highlanders crown to the days I founded Miss Rural and Miss Summer Strides, which were popular on the modelling calendar.
“I have empowered models in urban areas and those in the rural areas, a legacy I have created for myself.
“Some of the challenges made me strong.”
She added:
“I have since closed my hair salons and I am ready to help others with my expertise in grooming. I will be available to those who need my advice but the truth is that I have quit pageantry to concentrate on events management.”
