TAWO Paguwa won the Mbada Golf Society tournament that was held at Harry Allen Golf Club on Sunday. The tournament is held every two weeks to raise money for charity. Paguwa, playing off a 13 handicap grossed 79 to record a net score of 66 and claim first prize, relegating Eddington Mwamlowe and Crispen Magosvongwe to second and third place positions respectively.
Mwamlowe grossed 82 off his 12 handicapp and in the process counted out Magosvongwe who grossed 86, playing off a 16 handicapp to get a net score of 70.
Maxwell Zhuwarara won the nearest to the pin on hole three while hole seven was taken up by Cleopas Dube. Holes 12 and 17 were taken by Wishes Nyoni and Moses Nzapu.
Mufaro Chivonivoni had the longest drive. Soccer personalities, former Zimbabwe Saints player and coach Ebson Sugar Muguyo and former Highlanders treasurer and chairman Themba Ndlela also took part in the tournament but did not do well. Muguyo is a past winner of the competition.
The Mbada Golf Society is a fortnightly golf tournament that rotates within Bulawayo’s three golf courses, Bualwayo Golf Club, Harry Allen Golf Club. and Bulawayo Country Club.
