adminLAHORE. — Pakistan have left out Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Irfan from the 15-member Test squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.
The other players to miss out from the Test squad that played in South Africa in February 2013 are batsman Haris Sohail, wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed, Taufeeq Umar and Umar Gul, who is out with injury.
They have been replaced by Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Imran Farhat (who was not part of the original squad in South Africa), batsman Khurram Manzoor and wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal.
Changes were also announced for the ODI and T20 squads for the month-long tour that kicks off with the T20s on August 23 in Harare.
Wahab Riaz, who played four ODIs during the recent tour of the West Indies but managed only two wickets, has been dropped from the one-day squad and he was replaced by Anwar Ali.
Peshawar batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who was also part of the squad to the West Indies, has been left out as he has been included in the Pakistan Under-23 squad.
Riaz has also lost his place to Ali in the T20 squad, while Hammad Azam had made way for batsman Sohaib Maqsood, who has been included in the national side for the first time.
Pakistan are scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and two T20 matches during the tour.
The series was originally supposed to take place last December but was postponed as it clashed with Pakistan’s tour of India after the two countries decided to resume bilateral cricketing relations.
