ISRAEL’S hostility and crimes will not deter Palestinians from continuing their national struggle until they win their legitimate rights and establish their independent sovereign state, with Jerusalem as its capital, the Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe has said.
Yesterday alone, at least 200 Palestinians were assassinated by the Israeli occupation forces while over 1 610 were critically wounded, Ambassador Tamer Almassri said.
He said Israeli forces have also targeted civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and residential units with missiles.
He warned against the consequences of failing to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and establish their own state.
“Instead, the Israeli occupation state continued with its aggression and violations against the Palestinian people unabatedly, including daily provocations, settler attacks, occupation forces’ terrorism against unarmed civilians, the siege on Gaza, as well as the raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque, Christian and Islamic holy sites.
“Today (yesterday) alone, Israeli occupation forces have assassinated 200 Palestinian martyrs and over 1 610 critically wounded while more than 7 000 are in jails, including children, women and the elderly. Israeli forces have also targeted with missiles and destroyed civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and residential units,” he said.
Ambassador Almassri said Palestinians will use all means permitted by international law to defend themselves and resist Israeli occupation.
“Despite these blatant violations, the world has remained silent. The international community’s double standards and failure to act against the Israeli violations of Palestinian people’s rights encourages Israel to increase its crimes against our oppressed people.
“Security, stability and peace in our region can be attained by ending the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine,” he said.
