PALESTINE, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, has condemned a wave of attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank and described the violence as “organised terrorism” and part of a broader campaign against the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the Ministry said the attacks, which reportedly targeted several towns and villages, marked a dangerous escalation in violence allegedly carried out with the backing of Israeli authorities and security forces.

“The calculated and organised attacks carried out yesterday by settler militias across various cities, villages and towns reflect a dangerous escalation in systematic and widespread settler terrorism,” read the statement.

The ministry said the assaults included the burning of homes and property, as well as the killing and intimidation of civilians, particularly during the Eid al-Fitr period.

“These assaults on villages, including the burning of homes and property, terrorising and killing of civilians and the targeting of vital roads, junctions and main streets constitute a coordinated strategy across the occupation’s apparatus,” read the statement.

The ministry linked the incidents to an ongoing genocidal war against Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

It also cited continued restrictions on access to key religious sites such as the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“These measures are part of deliberate tactics aimed at deepening the genocidal war, all of which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity,” read the statement.

While welcoming statements of condemnation from some countries, the Palestinian Ministry urged the international community to take decisive action beyond rhetoric.

It called for measures including the disarmament of settlers, imposition of travel bans, freezing of assets and the listing of those involved in attacks on international terrorism registers.

The ministry also said there was need to implement United Nations resolutions and ensure accountability through international legal mechanisms.

It said it would continue diplomatic efforts to secure international protection for Palestinians and hold those responsible to account.
