Pamela Shumba misses out on semis at the Paralympic Games

ZIMBABWE’S Pamela Shumba finished fourth in the women’s 100m T12 Heat One today at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, missing out on the semi-finals at the Olympic Stadium.

Shumba came fourth in 15.43 seconds, posting a new personal best in the process. However, it was not good enough to see her through to the semifinals.

Her previous personal best was 15.88 seconds.

There were four heats lined up for the women’s 100m T12 with the first in each heat and the next four fastest advancing to the semi-finals.

The heat was won by Ukraine’s Oksana Boturchuk in 12.04 seconds, who came in as the fovourite.

She was followed by Yanfen Liang from China with a time of 12.39 seconds.

On third place was Paraguay’s Melissa Nair Tillner Galeano in 14.77 seconds, which was also her personal best.
