Pan-African Parliament meets South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation

PRESIDENT of the Pan-African Parliament Chief Fortune Charumbira led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr Naledi Pandor ahead of the Ordinary Session of the Pan-African Parliament.

South Africa is the host.

In a post on X, the Pan African Parliament said the meeting covered the latest developments regarding the Pan-African Parliament and its institutional operational capacity, within the framework of the Host Country Agreement between the South African Government and the African Union.

“Officials from both parties also discussed possible dates for the upcoming Ordinary Session of the Pan-African Parliament, where DIRCO is expected to provide the traditional logistical support to ensure the success of the gathering. This event will bring together African Parliamentarians from the 55 member states of the AU to engage in discussions on the issues facing the continent,” posted the Pan African Parliament.

“The President of the Pan-African Parliament expressed his gratitude to the Government of South Africa for the facilities provided to support its mandate on behalf of the people of Africa.”
