adminDelivering his solidarity message during the 12th Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo, Cde Lungisa said African governments should be careful not to allow Western countries to plunder their natural resources through treacherous means.
He said the nationalisation of key sectors of the economy was the way to go in order to achieve genuine independence.
“We are here to support Zimbabwe as it fights for economic freedom. The role of young people today is to fight for the protection of our resources.
“Western countries are out to plunder our natural resources. As a union we have resolved to support the indigenisation programme,” said the youthful Cde Lungisa, who is from South Africa.
“Let us nationalise our economies. Let us nationalise the mines, the banks and so forth. The youths in Africa have started calling for nationalisation but there is resistance.
“The whole of Africa is learning from the people of Zimbabwe and their leader President Mugabe. He is the last man to remain standing after the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
“He is our hope in Africa. The struggle for Zimbabwe is not for you alone but it is for the whole continent. We must therefore move in unity and mobilise the people to vote for Zanu-PF.”
Formed in 1962, the Pan-African Youth Union is an umbrella body of all youth organisations on the continent.
It was formed to provide a platform to rally African youths behind the cause of African liberation from colonial bondage.
