adminIn an interview yesterday, YBD director Mr Makarichi Makarichi said his organisation has been granted the permission to provide ICT services to schools in Bulawayo.
“We have been given the go ahead by the Ministry of Education to assist schools with the provision of ICT equipment such as hardware and software programming so that pupils in schools are abreast with modern technology.
“We are concerned about uplifting marginalised communities and our main objective is to complement the Government of Zimbabwe to achieve the 2015 Millennium Development Goals (MGDs),” said Mr Makarichi.
“We are keen on investing in health and medical service provision hence we have been conducting outreach programmes to vulnerable communities for free.
“We have also engaged the Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture.”
The new organisation was formed in August this year and is registered with the Zimbabwe Youth Council.
The organisation has conducted health outreach programmes in the city targeting the vulnerable groups in Mzilikazi, Nguboyenja and Makokoba.
They have also offered free medical services at Jairos Jiri Centre and King George VI.
Mr Makarichi paid tribute to companies that have partnered with them in extending help to the needy in the community.
He said the new organisation was planning to establish hospitals and pharmacies to rural communities.
The new organisation is made up of professional youths some of whom are specialist doctors, nurses and physiotherapists and ICT specialists.
Mr Makarichi, however, said his organisation was facing challenges with transport for medical staff and medical goods and appealed to the corporate sector for support.
