HEALTH and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa said he will soon meet parastatals under his Ministry to get an insight on their operations. Dr Parirenyatwa said since his appointment to the Health Ministry together with his deputy Dr Paul Chimedza they have managed to interact with top management and got briefings of prevailing situations in provinces as well as in central hospitals.

“Once all de-briefings are done, we will be going to the institutions throughout the country to relate what they would have told us together with what is on the ground. That is our agenda, that is our programme,” Dr Parirenyatwa said.

He said these de-briefings and visits will enable the Ministry to take appropriate measures and proffer concrete solutions.

“It is going to be team work, team health. We had team Zanu PF, team Zimbabwe now we have team health. We are going to work together to make sure that the most important person is the patient. Service delivery is put uppermost,” he said.

Dr Parirenyatwa said they are also going to re-look into the parastatals management and composition of boards.

“We are going to look at our management, we going to look at our boards, where it needs changing we will change, where it needs dissolving we will dissolve. We just have to hit the ground running, new boards if necessary so that we put our structures in place,” he said.
