Parliament has congratulated the country’s rugby national team, the Sables, after their victory over Namibia in the Rugby Africa Men’s Cup in Uganda on Sunday, securing qualification for the 2027 World Cup to be held in Australia.

The Sables triumphed over Namibia with a score of 30-28, winning the Cup for the second consecutive year.

Speaking in the National Assembly this Tuesday, Goromonzi West legislator Cde Beatrice Nyamupinga commended the national team during a point of national interest.

“On behalf of this House, I would like to congratulate the men’s rugby national team for beating Namibia and qualifying for the Rugby World Cup in Australia in 2027. I urge all members to go and welcome them when they arrive later today,” she said.

The Sables return to the global stage after a 34-year absence.
